Welcome to St Matthew Catholic Parish

Triduum and Easter Schedule

The Easter Triduum begins with the Mass of the Lord's Supper on Holy Thursday at 7:00 pm where the institution of the Priesthood, and therefore the Institution of the Holy Eucharist, are celebrated. Following Mass and a solemn procession, there will be time for Adoration of Our Lord in the Holy Eucharist until midnight. It is also customary to make visits to other churches that night to adore the Lord “in the tomb.”

Good Friday, the day of the Lord's Crucifixion, our parish will mourn by praying the Stations of the Cross at noon, the actual time Jesus was crucified on the Cross. The Passion of Jesus will be celebrated at 3:00 pm with a beautiful remembrance of Jesus' suffering. Following the Passion, the church will be open for quiet prayer and veneration of the True Cross. This is the only day Holy Mass is not celebrated, but Holy Communion is given.

On Holy Saturday, the celebration of the Lord's Resurrection begins! The newly baptized and newly received are welcomed into the Church at the Easter Vigil which begins at 7:30 pm. This is the anniversary of all of us as Catholics, and especially of those who have been received into the Catholic Church.

On Easter Sunday there will be three (3) Masses: 7:30 am, 9:30 am and 11:30 am. There will be NO 5:15 pm Mass on Easter day.
